Wind! Finally!  Elias is up early and dying to wind surf.  Kyle and I follow in the dinghy.  windsurf.jpg (35473 bytes)After we all fail, we go to shore to re-rig.

I make several hundred feet, but lose much ground to windward.

Barely 9:00 and I’m ready for a nap.

Off to the Blue Hole.  sailing.jpg (93092 bytes)A close reach doing 9-10 knots over 10 feet of water zig zagging around the coral heads.   The best sailing of the week.  Jean and Denise serve lobster salad on fresh sourdough bread for lunch.  Elias is now comfortable enough to play mixmaster and learns he likes Smash Mouth and we heard the first of 50 rounds of Bob Marley.

The Blue Hole.  ¼ mile in diameter, 450 feet deep.  It's the dot on the map under the "R" in Lighthouse Reef.  Kyle, Denise and Claudio dive to 160 feet.  Several bull sharks – real sharks – are seen as well as numerous huge stalactites.

boxfish.jpg (40521 bytes)While we snorkeled, the dive group next to us was jigging for the sharks they’d seen, and managed to hook one. Thankfully, they didn’t land it.  The step off the dinghy back to the boat was a bit more cautious this trip.
