St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Page 6

By now, we have settled into the routine of cruising life. With the sun up at 6:00, it's tough to stay in a hot cabin much past 7:00. Breakfast consists of fresh bread bought the day before, local orange marmalade, maybe a piece of fruit.

Set the Main (75k)

Kyle and I raise the dinghy, close the hatches, set the main, raise the anchor. Brian motors us off. "Unfurl the jib if there is enough wind to keep it from luffing", says Denise. You mean the red sail? Strike the sails, drop the anchor.

Snorkel, beer, eat, snorkel, sail, cocktails, sunset, shower, dinner, lay in the net and look at the stars. Ho hum, another day in paradise that doesn't suck.

Although Denise was up at 6:00, I managed to sleep until 8:00 and the rest of the boat slept 'til 9:00! Good provisions in Union meant bananas for breakfast, ham sandwiches for lunch. Spent the day back at the Tobago Cays where I got almost intimate with a box fish.

Canouan

SPLASH (21k)

SPLASH, splash.

There goes Kyle and Jean.

"Hey Dave, is it cocktail hour?"

I always eat way too much at a buffet. Green salad, cheese, prime rib! Kyle and Denise attempted to sleep all night in the net. 0230. You guessed it. "Game off". Close the hatches for the rain. "Game on". Reopen the hatches. "Game off". It rained every hour. The wind blew pretty hard. The boat was spinning on the mooring.
